Aero Bike Fit Case study on Harrison Wood

Harrison Wood – Age Group (and aspiring Pro) Triathlete

I first met Harrison when I completed his bike fit in my previous role. His first bike fit was the first step of a 3 year process that we’re still carrying out (Winter 2021/22). Within Harrison’s original bike fit we looked at everything from cleat position and saddle position right through to a more aerodynamic front end to increase overall speed…

FAQ’s

Check out the most commonly asked questions when booking a personal Bike FIt.

  • Northamptonshire, the post code is NN9 5GL

  • Absolutely, the Aero Bike Fit® is designed to change your way of thinking about position and performance, the key is that whatever level of athlete you are we’ll be making changes specific to you, your equipment, and your target events no matter what you’re competing for.

  • Ideally not, this is simply because of the equipment changes that are often needed within the fit to most bikes, I’d rather you got in touch prior to the purchase of your new bike so that I can help advise you on models, sizes, and specs to get the best possible outcome.

  • Yes absolutely, unfortunately, it is part of Aero Bike Fitting that we may well need to change parts to make the bike ‘do the work for you and ensure we get a sustainable, aero, and comfortable position. Most common parts include high sided pads, angles shims for the pads, new extensions, and custom insoles

  • Yes, of course, many riders have already started to work on their aero themselves, but if you can’t sit on the bike then it isn’t much use! I have an advanced saddle pressure mapping system that can be used outdoors as well (weather permitting!) that doesn’t tie us to the turbo trainer.

  • Please do! My experience within cycling and triathlon from an optimisation point of view means that there are nearly always key things to point out from tires, drive chain, skinsuits, or tri suits that all play a huge part in your overall performance so it would be wrong of me to not chat that through with you on the day!

  • Occasionally, the weekends are usually dictated around racing and supporting coached athletes at races too, if none of the dates from Calendly work then please get in touch and we will see how we can help!
