Why you should get an Aero Bike Fit in winter

An Aero Bike Fit in the winter might seem like a bit of a waste of time given that you’re not racing right now. However, we train al winter to make us ready for racing in April, and your position is quite literally NO different!

Assessing and making changes now in the winter will really enable you to get the most out of your racing next year. By giving yourself months to fully adapt to a new position that might be VERY different to what you’re currently riding may be the difference between winning and losing in 2022!

The biggest things that you need to consider in terms of an aerodynamic position are hip flexors, neck, shoulders and saddle comfort. Changes that are made to positions now will likely cause short term discomfort while the body changes shape from how you have been riding it. As you progress through the winter implementing the drills that we chat through within the Aero Bike Fit your body will not only be able to hold the position for longer, but also with a lot less effort. This means that you’ll be more comfortable, more aero and therefore just going faster!

My job within the Aero Bike Fit is to make sure the bike is doing the work for you, it is well known that we might need to change parts for this, however within a George Fox Cycling Solutions fit this is always a last resort, we’ll only change parts if we really need to. My job is to make you faster and more comfortable, not upsell parts.
